Geneva Puryear is a printmaker and illustrator based in Asheville, NC, specializing in original hand-carved block prints. Originally from Ashland, VA, she began her printmaking journey while studying art at Warren Wilson College, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking.

Working primarily in relief printing, Geneva creates both hand-carved woodblock and linocut prints. Her work emphasizes bold contrasts, dynamic textures, and a sense of movement, aiming to evoke a visual language that honors our human experience and connection to the natural world.

In addition to printmaking, Geneva is a photographer and college-level educator. She also pursues a variety of creative projects, including natural ink making, small-batch paper production, and illustration, reflecting her natural curiosity and dedication to traditional and experimental art forms.
